Network Event Viewer - Firewall Support
Using Network Event Viewer through Firewalls and over Wide Area Networks
Network Event Viewer uses Microsoft's WMI API to manage remote computers.
Many corporate environments have firewalls installed that block WMI traffic.
Network Event Viewer can still be used in firewalled networks or WANs.
In order to run in these environments, the System Adminitrator must install Network Event Viewer on each remote system and then point each installation to the same SQL Server or MySQL database.
Corner Bowl Software offers a Single Server License to enable organizations to cost effectively manage WANs for the low cost of $20 USD per server.
